Canvas Wall Hanging for My Laundry Room!

Wow, has life been crazy busy around my house! My husband has been adding on to our 100+ year old farmhouse. The updates he has been doing are completely amazing! One of the new rooms he has finished is my laundry room. Instead of some old, grungy room, I have a beautiful new room! It has a hard wood floor he made himself! The walls are pine, and the ceiling is wood from a 50+ old evergreen tree that came down in a storm a few years ago. IMG_4135

Last summer, my friend Jane came and took some incredible pictures on our farm! (Her blog is: My kids were taken with her and how kind she was, and they instantly came up with cool picture ideas! One picture in particular I knew would fit perfectly in my laundry room! My daughter wanted her picture taken with her cat she adopted. In the background, you see some jeans hanging on the clothesline. I remember thinking how ridiculous that I hadn’t gotten those jeans off the line. Never did I think the picture would be so stinkin’ perfect!!!

Here’s my finished project! I used a 12×12 picture I printed out in Studio J, so it was only $3. (Check it out here: SnazzyJen) Then, I used Close to My Heart’s Jubilee paper pack to put with the picture onto a 11×14 canvas. I added three coats of Modge Podge to give it a canvas look and preserve the picture. I then used the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cartridge to cut the flowers, circle centers, and leaves to make the sunflowers. I watched the youtube video by  Julie and cut them on my Cricut Explore. To make the clothesline, I cut the clothes using the Country Life Cricut cartridge. Finally, I hung the clothes on my husband’s baling twine and used clothespins I had purchased from a craft store years ago!!  Let me know if I have inspired you, and please comment below. Have a GREAT day!
